Selection Criteria

 

We are looking for organisations or coalitions of organisations that are motivated and engaged in advocacy and respond to the following criteria:

 

Hard criteria

Organisations or coalitions eligible for participation in the Voices for Inclusion project:

  • are based in one of the selected countries (The Philippines, Indonesia, Rwanda, Nigeria or Sierra Leone)
  • are officially registered (in case of coalition the lead-organisation needs to be registered) and have a bank account under name of the organisation
  • have a mission and vision to advocate for an inclusive, non-discriminative society for - or with - at least one of the following target groups: 1. Indigenous groups and ethnic minorities; 2. Age-discriminated vulnerable groups, notably the young and the elderly; 3. Groups discriminated by their sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, and/or sexual characteristics (SOGIESC) 4. People with disabilities. 5. Women facing exploitation, abuse and/or violence
  • are committed with the principles “Nothing About Us Without Us” and “Leave No One Behind” that are part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
  • have a maximum turnover of €2.000.000,- per year (financial audit report should be available upon request)

Preferred criteria
When selecting the organisations in the three countries, priority will be given to organisations or coalitions that:

  • are target-group led, or are meaningfully involving people from the target group
  • have a diverse team of employees
  • have proven experience with communicating about advocacy initiatives via diverse media
  • are clearly showing to be open to learn from other organisations that are advocating with/for other target groups
  • have main applicants with a good level of English (spoken and written)

 

Selection criteria for the awards

In order for you to get a better idea of what is the focus of the ‘Voices for Inclusion’ project, here you can find the criteria that will be used for the selection of the award winners:

Selection criteria Good Practice Award
Five prizes of €5000,- (one award per participating country).
This award is for projects:

  • existing or finished in the last 2 years
  • focussing on impact-full advocacy for inclusive society for at least one of the following target groups: 1. Indigenous groups and ethnic minorities; 2. Age-discriminated vulnerable groups, notably the young and the elderly; 3. Groups discriminated by their sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, and/or sexual characteristics (SOGIESC); 4. People with disabilities 5. Women facing exploitation, abuse and/or violence.
  • implemented with close participation of target group (preferably target group led)
  • with strong communication materials about the project and its results
  • that have been evaluated (if project has finished)
  • that have capitalised the lessons learned for other similar initiatives


Selection criteria for the Voices for Inclusion Innovation Award
One prize of €25.000,- (only one award available)

This grant is for a project proposal which:

  • is written for a new project, a new addition to an existing project, or an idea for making your organisation more inclusive, resulting from insights gained during the exchange visits and the in-country learning event of the Voices for Inclusion project;
  • is focusing on advocacy for inclusive society for at least one of the following target groups (1. Indigenous groups and ethnic minorities; 2. Age-discriminated vulnerable groups, notably the young and the elderly; 3. Groups discriminated by their sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, and/or sexual characteristics (SOGIESC); 4. People with disabilities. 5. Women facing exploitation, abuse and/or violence);
  • will be implemented in close participation of target group (preferably target group led);
  • shows clear attention for intersectionality - Intersectionality emphasizes that  people can experience multiple sources of oppression based on their race, class, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability, etcetera. For example: being a girl and having visual impairment (age, gender, disability).

The use of digital technology in the project is an asset.
