The SPO in Bangladesh, DRRA (Disabled Rehabilitation and Research Association) received the Bangladesh National Social Welfare Award from Bangladesh Government as one of the best organizations working for persons with disabilities. DRRA received this prestigious award from the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Government of Bangladesh for its amazing contribution to change the lives of persons with disabilities in Bangladesh.

This is a great pleasure to share that this year DRRA received Bangladesh National Social Welfare Award from Bangladesh Government as one of the best organizations working for persons with disabilities. DRRA received this prestigious award from the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Government of Bangladesh for its amazing contribution to change the lives of persons with disabilities in Bangladesh. 

On the occasion of the 27th International Disability Day and 20th National Disability Day, 3rd December 2018, the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina handed over the award to the Executive Director of DRRA, Farida Yesmin. It should be noted here that since it’s’ establishment in 1996 DRRA is working to make positive changes in the lives of persons with disabilities through creating an enabling environment and inclusive society. Over the last 22 years, DRRA reached into the lives of more than 1.2 million persons with disabilities, their caregivers directly, through operating programs in 30 districts with 30 implementing partners including NGOs, CBOs and DPOs.
